But there are times when our system can’t cope with it, and we can’t respond to it.”
The company has faced numerous cyberattacks in recent years, but this is the first time the company has been hit by a full-scale hack.
The company said the attack could take up to two hours to completely wipe out its data.
“We’re aware of the severity of this situation, and our priority is to ensure our players and our fans have access to the right information as soon as possible,” Lappins told LAP.
The outage affects all players and the entire footballing fan base.
Players, journalists and fans are being told to check their social media accounts to be sure they’re still connected to the online platform, and that the internet is functioning properly.
The Serie A clubs affected are: Lazio, Udinese, Lazio B, Sampdoria, Genoa and Genoa B. There is no word on whether the issue is related to the new internet access infrastructure or the fact that players and other fans are having to switch networks to access their team’s online platforms.
At the moment, the only solution is to switch all online accounts to a secondary internet service provider.
