Updated November 09, 2018 11:07:48A new workplace hazard standard from the Australian Financial Services Union (AFSU) could put businesses and their employees at risk.
The code, the first of its kind in Australia, will be part of the new workplace safety guidelines.
The guidelines, which will be rolled out over four years, are a part of an ongoing project by the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Government to reduce workplace injuries.
The workplace hazard code, which was published in January 2018, is designed to be a guide for employers.
It contains five steps that employers can take to protect themselves.
But it has already been criticised for failing to do enough.
The ABC’s Victoria Derbyshire program looked at some of the key points in the code and the impact on businesses.
